Position: Upper School debate coach
Polytechnic School is looking for an experienced debate coach who will have responsibility of leading our parliamentary and policy debate programs. This position will also coordinate our Moot Court program. He or she will be joining a division that values collegiality, espouses the highest standards, and provides mutual support and collaboration.
Our next debate coach will provide debate instruction to individual students, to pairs, and to the team as a whole. The coach will provide administrative support for the team including, coordination of travel logistics, communication with families, and structure and deadlines for appropriate student progress. The coach will lead all debate practices and should be prepared to chaperon students and travel to the weekend debate tournaments.
With this scope, this is a half-time position. Reporting to the director of the Upper School, the successful candidate will take a student-centered approach to all school work and will use the school’s mission to design and support the academic, extracurricular, social, and emotional success of students.
