Position: Upper School debate coach
Responsibilities
Polytechnic School is looking for an experienced and dynamic debate coach who will have the responsibility of leading our parliamentary and policy debate programs. He or she will be joining a division that values collegiality, espouses the highest standards, and provides mutual support and collaboration. The successful candidate will take a student-centered approach to all school work and will use the school’s mission to design and support the academic, extracurricular, social, and emotional success of students.
Our next debate coach will provide debate instruction to individual students, to pairs, and to the team as a whole. The coach will provide administrative support for the team, including coordination of travel logistics, communication with families, and structure and deadlines for appropriate student progress. The coach will lead all debate practices and should be prepared to chaperone students and travel to the weekend debate tournaments.
