Chief Culture and Inclusion Officer

This opening calls for specific administration qualifications set by the school.

CalWest's partner school in the San Francisco Bay Area seeks a Chief Culture and Inclusion Officer starting July 2025.

Qualifications: 

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 5+ years of experience leading community programming, services, and opportunities that prioritize culture, inclusion, and belonging 
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in the following: helping to shape a positive, equitable, and inclusive culture, leading teams and accomplishing work through others, including project management and initiating and leading change, including motivating others, managing the key drivers of change, and overcoming obstacles 
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills 
  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills 
  • Strong technology skills with Google Workspace, Microsoft Suite, Slack, and Zoom 

Preferred education and experience

  • Master’s degree 
  • Independent school experience 
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience 

Responsibilities:  

  • Serve on the Senior Leadership Team and provide strategic support on equitable and inclusive institutional practices 
  • Provide ongoing support of the Board in the development and implementation of Board diversity, equity, and inclusion objectives and key results, including providing resources, facilitating trainings and discussions, and consulting on best practices that align with our Strategic Plan. 
  • Oversee the development and implementation of key aspects of our Strategic Plan, including longitudinal assessment of institutional equity and inclusion practices and goals aligned with our community pillar. 
  • Plan, implement, and/or facilitate community events, professional development opportunities, and other relevant programming throughout the year 
  • Oversee the work of PAC affinity and ally groups and other PAC committees, working groups, task forces, and leadership teams dedicated to topics of equity and inclusion. 
  • Provide information and access to external professional development opportunities. 
  • Consult and collaborate with the Middle School and Upper School Directors of Teaching and Learning, Department Chairs, and other instructional leaders on the ongoing work of integrating culturally responsive practices and equity literacy into curriculum and instructional practices.
