CalWest's client school, Lick-Wilmerding High School, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill one full-time Science teacher position (4 sections, 100% FTE), starting August 1, 2020. Responsibilities likely include teaching four sections of sophomore Chemistry and/or Physics but may include other science courses as needed or expertise applies.
Responsibilities include teaching four sections of science, being an advisor for a group of students, attending team and department meetings, collaborating, helping to maintain shared classroom spaces, and representing the department at open houses. Classes meet every day for 75-minute blocks.
Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of teaching experience at the high school level or equivalent experience, a deep passion, and knowledge of scientific methods and content, ideally in the physical sciences, and a commitment to hands-on, student-centered teaching practices, creative lesson design, equity work, and environmental topics including climate change.
