Lead Primary Teacher

This opening calls for specific teaching qualifications set by the school.

CalWest's partner school in the Marin County Area seeks a Lead Primary Teacher to begin in August 2025.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required; Master's Degree preferred 
  • 3+ years teaching experience preferred 
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds 
  • Must possess a growth mindset and be open to using feedback to refine practice 

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain an organized, engaging classroom environment that supports student independence, curiosity, and social-emotional growth. 
  • Implement Montessori principles while integrating project-based learning and interdisciplinary studies when applicable. 
  • Use a variety of teaching methodologies to support diverse learning styles and needs. 
  • Foster a classroom culture of high expectations, accountability, and a love of learning. 
  • Collaborate closely with team members on curriculum design and best teaching practices. 
  • Assess students regularly, examine assessment data, and refine lesson plans to differentiate instruction for each student while working collaboratively with the Student Support Services team
  • Provide students and their families with regular and timely information on classroom activities and student progress 
  • Prepare documents and reports necessary to facilitate parent-teacher conferences or other meetings requested by parents or school administration. 
  • Write weekly classroom updates to inform families about ongoing work, upcoming events, and notable classroom milestones
