Human Resource Generalist

This opening calls for specific administration qualifications set by the school.

CalWest client school in Nevada seeks a Human Resource Generalist to begin July 1, 2025 or sooner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 3–5 years of professional HR experience; independent school or nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage recruitment and hiring processes for faculty, staff, and seasonal roles, including posting positions, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
  • Lead new employee onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and serve as the primary point of contact for benefit-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and ensure compliance with employment laws and school policies.
  • Provide guidance to employees and leadership on HR policies, employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to support staff retention and morale.
  • Partner with the business office on payroll-related processes and recordkeeping.
