Crystal Springs Uplands School seeks a full-time Head of Middle School (HoMS) starting July 2020. The Head of Middle School will provide leadership, supervision and organization for all aspects of a 216-student Middle School and will report directly to the Head of School. The HoMS leads a team of 30 faculty members, seven Department Leads and five administrators/staff (including Athletics, Student Counseling, Academic Counseling, Dean of Students and Middle School Assistant) and is part of the school’s eight-person Senior Leadership Team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (preference of master’s degree or higher) and at least five years of experience and demonstrated success as a classroom teacher and/or administrator. The candidate must be an outstanding communicator and engaged listener who appreciates diverse perspectives, values intellectual exchange and respectful disagreement, and is comfortable leading students and faculty with extraordinary academic aptitude and high expectations. The candidate must also be eager to further — and thrive in — a diverse, inclusive, and equitable community.
